It's only one week away from the Wake Games, the first official contest of the season. Wake Games is unique because the top 10 riders from last year's ranking are each in charge of choosing a team of 10 from the different divisions. This means that people from every age level and skill category get a chance to compete alongside the pro's. Once the 10 man teams have been formed, each person accumulates points for their team, making the contest a true bonding experience. This year I am privileged to be one of the team captains. As of now, I have no idea who I'm going to put on my team, but I've got my eyes and ears scouting.

Unfortunately, just coming off of an orthoscopic surgery has not given me as much time to prepare as I would have liked. However, today is my first day back on the water and I can't wait. I'm feeling great, and super ready to kick off the season.

My new supra 24 foot has finally arrived. I feel like I've been waiting forever for it to come. it couldn't have come at a better time though, right before spring and just in time for the Jobe sports USA Orlando store grand opening. We pulled the boat front and centre for the event. Despite the in climate weather, we still had a pretty good turnout. 5 or 6 different local food vendors came out to show their support and offer free food. Garett from Alliance wake came out to document as well, so make sure you check out the write up for ever exclusive low down. The store is now fully up and running and looks amazing.

After the grand opening we got to drop the boat in the water and test it out. The boat has an awesome wrap job, courtesy of z Decals. It was hard finding people to break it in (sarcasm) but we found two lovely volunteers. They even came out with their very own original Jobe wakeboards. I couldn't believe the enthusiasm they had for Jobe and Supra. When they saw Jobe written on my boat, they went crazy.

At this stage in the season wake games is right around the corner and I couldn't be more excited to start the season. After a long off season I'm starting to get restless. Once wake games starts, the rest are soon to follow. Stay tuned for more updates this season.

Just got to Brazil to do some coaching and get an early start on the season. The weather here is amazing, Its their summer and its nice and hot. Not only that, but the scenery is beautiful. I started coaching in Broa Lake on Saturday, and since then have come to ride in Igarata with my friend Rodrigo. The Brazilians have so much enthusiasm for the sport. I let them try the Austin Series, and three of them bought it right away. Now, I'm learning some more Portuguese and making friends along the way. I can't believe I only have a week down here. I will be back down for sure at least twice a year. Enjoy the photos.

We just got back from a cable trip down to South Florida, and it was an epic time. The Warhol brothers, the Cohen brothers, and myself packed up and left Orlando last Friday to travel down to Fort Myers and Deerfield Beach, FL. We first stopped at Revolution. This park was totally new to me. Although a bit old school, it was still pretty fun. They could definitely use some new obstacles, but their a frame wasn't bad. We really just had a lot of fun doing air tricks. That night was topped off with some wings and of course karaoke. Julian Cohen really shined as the "class clown" during this spectacle with his loud, off key shouts. We found out later he was actually trying a technique he learned in voice lessons, and we all agreed he should probably ask for a refund.

The next day we went to Rixen. Rixen had added so many new obstacles since I was there last, I was blown away. It completely changed the look of the cable. We all had a great time here. The pull is great for air tricks, and the new features kept us entertained the entire time. We loved the rooftop and the transfer box. Both of them were pretty wide and great for pressing. They have a new pipe rail however that was only half done, so it was hard to lock in. Everyone killed it on airtricks, s mobes, mobe 5's, 515's, all around….we had a sick time. It's the off season in North America right now, which means a lot less traveling and a little bit more downtime than normal. It's been great, it’s been giving me time to learn some new tricks out at the cable that I'd like to take to boat pretty soon. The more I've been riding my board, the more I like it. I used to have a board ready to go to ride cable, then I had to have another set up for boat, and often times I had a third set up for rails. Now, I literally have one board in my car everywhere I go and its awesome. This week, I got a shipment of Austin Series boards sent to the house, which means they're officially ready to sell here in the US via my site. I seriously think people will be able to improve their riding once they try this board out.
I've also been using my time to work on fitness. I've started doing cross fit here in Orlando, and it is an insane workout. Information on cross fit can be found at wwww.crossfit.com. The idea is to shorten your workout time significantly while increasing your intensity significantly. So, workouts may only be 15-20 minutes long after warms ups, but the intensity is so high that it makes up for it. I strongly recommend this type of work out to any one, especially athletes.
