Blog Guillaume Duvernoy
Hi guys !!!
Happy Easter to all! I hope you had a good time. I spend the Easter holidays with my family.
It’s the beginning of the season in Europe with cold water. I will train all summer long at Ezy waterski, a spot close to Paris (one hour drive) with my coach, Anthony Anyne.
I am going to work on my technique first to find the sensation again. I will continue the work on my 2, 4, 6. At the end of last season I reached a new personal goal and I want to continue at this point. When I restart a season I have to be really concentrated. I think I would do better than last season, it’s the right moment to change!
I made my schedule for the tournament this season and I’m really excited to restart the tournament season again. I will meet my friends again at the lakes and I am going to make some good scores!
I will keep you up to date with my blog during the season! So stay tuned!
Take care,
Guillaume

Hello!!!
I’m back in France, it’s study time….! I prepared my mathematics so I could go to a good business school next year.
Nevertheless, I can’t stop thinking about water skiing! So, I went back to the fitness center to get ready for the new season. When the weather is better, I am prepared for skiing!
I do exercises with my trainer which are quite similar to water skiing. I’m going to the gym five times a week. I don’t work out too long, I think about one hour, but the intensity is really high. For my upper legs I do lot of tractions in different positions to get stronger in my back as well. I do pushups and some other exercises to strengthen my shoulders…
These muscle exercises are an important part of my training, because in our sport we use this part of the body a lot. It is really important to prevent injuries. For the legs I do dynamic exercises with a jump rope, and different exercises for the balance.
But the gym center can be really boring so I do some other sport to practice my cardio, like badminton or soccer.
See you guys!!
Guillaume.

Hello all!!
I hope you had a great Christmas, and I wish you a happy new year!!!
I came back from my trip in Namibia, it was a very nice place to stay and the people were really nice!
After our training week at Kakamas, we went to Cape Town and took part in a tournament: It was a three sets tournament with one session of night skiing. During the training on the lake I had some problems with the set up before the buoys because the lake is really short and the boat doesn't get speed before the buoys. One other thing was strange for me as well, it was salt water so I managed to get a lot of speed... So I changed my setting before the tournament, it was a bit risky but I should adapt at the conditions... The tournament started with the night ski and I won with 4,5@12m , this round was lot of fun! The next morning we started early because the wind was with us all the weekend. I won the tournament with a new lake record : 0,5@10,75! I was really happy with this result because the conditions were not easy, but the organisation was just perfect! You can find all the results on the website: http://www.iwwfed-ea.org/ . The Rottcher family did a good job too because Guerald and Natascha won in their category as well.
To finish my trip I made some touristic trips. I climbed the table mountain, visited Cape point and went on a wine tour. Besides that I spend a week on the Namibian coast for a holiday and did some quad riding, shark fishing and laid down on the beach....
I want to say thanks to Jobe for the year 2011! I hope to get a lot of new records with my Rogue ski in 2012!
Have a good end of the year everybody!

Hello everybody!
This is my second blog on JOBE website!
Last time I told you my season was over because the weather is too cold now in Europe. But I had a call from my Namibian friends : the Rottcher Family. They asked me to come for one month, to train together and to make a trip in Namibia and in South Africa.
I arrived on the 25th of November in Namibia and I will stay at their lake Von Bach Dam for ten days. It’s a public lake close to the capital of Namibia Windhoek. The temperature here is between 30 and 35° in the air and 25° for the water. We had good conditions the whole week for training and had a very good time. When it was a bit windy I tried winsurfing and it was quite fun, but I prefer waterskiing. I did two or three sets a day and a short gym session every evening for about 30 minutes.
Last Sunday we left Namibia to go to South Africa it was a very long drive : 1.000 km. We will stay at lake Grappa in Kakamas until next Tuesday to meet another friend of us JG Visser (close to the border between Namibia and South Africa ). This lake is just perfect for waterskiing because they build it just for that. At this lake the next European championship under 21 will be organized next march.
Next weekend we have a tournament in Cape town in the south of South Africa. There are three rounds and one night round. So Tuesday we will drive over there and have some training on the lake for the tournament.
In my next blog I will give you my results at the tournament and show you some pics from Namibia and South Africa.
Bye Guys!

Hi everyone! Because this is my first Jobe blog I will give you a little introduction. My name is Guillaume Duvernoy, I’m 22 years old and just graduated in Hospitality management. I live in Baurech in France and I am one of the slalom athletes from the Jobe team. I am really happy to be part of the team!
The 2011 season was really successful for me! I achieved a new personal record with 1@10,25m in slalom skiing! I had some good results at 10,75m as well. At this rope lenght (10,75m) I start to be more confident but I have to work on it to run it more often. Besides that, I had my first selection in the open national team for the Europeans in Norway from the 17th to the 21st of August. I entered the top ten Europeans with the 9th place!
In Europe the season is almost finished (now it's cold), but it's time for me to try some new things. I work on my technique to improve it. I want try to be more fluid on my 2,4,6 (on side) because I turn a bit too hard and I lose my rope a bit.
I work a lot with video training, I helps me to see what do right or wrong. For training in this period, I really appreciate my wetsuit with this cold water (13°).
Ok, it's time for me to say goodbye now. I will keep you posted about my training plan for the winter in the next blog!
