Blog Mathijs Zielman
At the beginning of March the HISWA took place, a water sports exhibition in the Amsterdam RAI. It was a very nice time and all my sponsors were present.
I had a good time talking with my other team riders from Jobe and the Jobe crew! The evening finished in a very fun party with even a live singer!
Now that everything is settled, a new engine in our boat, new Jobe gear, I'm ready to fire! From now on you will find me 4 to 5 times a week on the river. I will train with only one goal in mind; To become the number one!
For accomplishing my goal, I have the Dutch Champion Seniors (Eddie Smith), the Dutch Champion Juniors (Bart Daalman), the driver (Jan to Wee) and my coach (Arno Zielman)with me. Besides that, we have a very successful boat.
Moreover, there is another important thing on my agenda; passing my finals at school in the course of May. School is still important and I have to stay focused on school as well.
This Easter weekend I went to the Cup final Football of PSV – Heracles in Rotterdam city. In the football stadium were 50,000 people singing all at once. I cannot describe how beautiful that was.
Well that’s it for now!
See you guys.

Hello people,
December was a month with a lot off nice things to do, things like Sinterklaas (It’s a Dutch tradition. Sinterklaas is the Dutch Santa Claus), Christmas, new year’s eve.
A kind of a break for me, just relaxing and get prepared for a new season of barefoot water skiing!
Two days in a row, I had a big meal with Christmas and I had a big party with 50 people at my house with new year’s eve. As you can imagine the motivation of going to the gym and train was a bit low in December, that’s why we have January!
Last year we did some fun stuff in the snow. We tight a rope behind the Land rover and did things like knee boarding, wakeboarding on the snow pulled by the car. So I‘m waiting for the snow to come! Haha!
They said it would be a horror winter in Holland… The only thing I see is a lot of rain, and the town is half underwater… A new idea has born: Skiing on the roads, we are going to try it this weekend! Pictures will follow…!
I’m planning my events and competitions for the new barefoot season, but the calendar is not as full as I hoped for. There are the Worlds, Nationals, and some clinics. But Holland is planning some extra competitions. I can’t wait to see the planning!
My bare footing hours are starting when we get the new F250 Yamaha outboard behind the boat. That will be in the course of February.
Until then, I’m trying to make the best of it! Creating new ideas off fun!
See you guys!!

Unfortunately my skiing season for this year is over, the weather is bullying me, haha.
Now it is a task to keep up my condition and training my muscles to be strong. I am busy at the gym and training with my dirt bike, for the experts an MX2 Bike.
Besides that I am helping my dad with his ski school, teaching kids of elementary schools and high schools. I am teaching them how to ski, and when they really want to I teach them to barefoot. When I am not working at the ski school I work at A Volvo And Landrover Dealer as a mechanic. I follow school in the evenings. It’s a combined education of working and school.
This year of skiing was a pretty good year for me. All the results were good, for the point in my career where I am at now. I participated in the Dutch nationals in Belgium. This competition was combined with the Belgium team. But the main thing was training focusing on the worlds next year, and my inverted jumping (that’s jumping over a ramp like superman).
Next year is a busy year with a lot off competitions, The nationals, the Worlds in September in Texas, and some international competitions (Meridian Challenge). I hope for some good results, and podium places.
This was my blog for now, speak to you guys soon.
