Letter from Jobe kiter Vera Klabbers
20 january 2014
After signing with Jobe last December Vera has been a busy lady! She took a trip to the south of Spain with her family to train for the upcoming season. To keep you all entertained she wrote a small article about it, including three pictures that were taken in Spain!
I have spend Christmas time in Tarifa together with my family.
We drove all the way from Holland to Tarifa the ,south of Spain, in our camper van. That's about 2500 km but it's worth it :)
The first day there was no wind so we had time to prepare all our stuff.
After the first two days we almost had wind every day so lots of kiting !
Tarifa is a great place to go during winter, there are lots of good young freestyle riders. The current PKRA World Champions live there aswell.
We had one stormy and rainy day with big waves out there, I went out on a 4,5 while my brothers were pulling some nice mega loops ! It was a nice day to just go out and have some fun. The only bad thing was that the day after I went kiting in the lagune, I got ill from the water in the lagune. Because of the rain all the dirty water from the town flowed into the lagune.
From now on i don't go in the lagune after a rainy day :)
We also made a trip to Tanger (Marocco). You can go there by ferry it takes about 35 min to get there. It's fun to see the big differnce between Tarifa and Tanger there's a huge difference in culture. It was nice to go there and do some sight-seeing like a real tourist ;)
On New Years Eve we went to old town Tarifa. There's a small square. It's specially prepared for new years eve. At 12 pm all the local people go there to celebrate new year. The later it got the busier it became. All the people were very friendly and it was a great party to start new year.
First day of the year I had the best session with an extra big lagune together with my hole family.
Hope every one have had a nice Christmas
Greets Vera Klabbers
