Max van der Valk is a young talented PWC rider in the Jobe team. Besides his ski career, he is also planning to follow a full time study. Max is a busy guy and always very motivated to progress in his ski skills.
Recently, Jobe had a short chat with Max and we did not want to withhold you of the results.
Jobe: Hello Max, could you please introduce yourself?
Max: I am Max van der Valk, I am 19 years old and I live in Tiel (Netherlands). I just finished my exams and I will start with school again in February. It is a education for hotel business which is given in Maastricht. Furthermore, I have a lot of hobbies: go karting, mx cross, kite surfing, mountain biking, wakeboarding and school.
Jobe: Since when are you in the Jobe PWC team?
Max: I am a member of the Jobe PWC team since the 2007-2008 season, and I really enjoy it.
Jobe: How often do you ski?
Max: Mostly I train 2 to 3 times a week on the fast hydrospace ski. Unfortunately, sometimes this is not possible due to mechanic failure. I am only able to ride when Robby de Ryck checked the ski, otherwise I am riding on an other ski.
Jobe: That’s nice! When did you start riding and how?
In 2005 I saw my father riding a PWC on the sea in Spain and from that moment I got inspired and started skiing.
Jobe: Do you also participate in other extreme sports besides Jet Skiing?
Max: Yes, I do but I do not participate in competitions. I like motocross and karting it gives me extra condition and the perfect race lines
Jobe: Sportive guy! What is the best contest you’ve ever entered?
Max: Definitely, the World championships in China! I ended at the 7th place and I was really happy with that result.
Jobe: That’s a good result indeed! What motivates you to progress in Jet Skiing
Max: Last race in Croatia I won one moto from the 2009 world champion. It motivates me to try to beat him in the next round.
Jobe: Have you ever suffered an injury from Jet Skiing?
Max: Yes, but luckily only muscle-injury’s. My left shoulder is still recovering.
Jobe: Ooh that sucks men, I hope it will recover soon! I will present you some antonyms, choose one and tell us why you chose that one.

Max: Relationship, it makes me feel good when I am with my girlfriend.
Summer or Winter
Max: Summer, I like the good temperature.
Movie or Book
Max: Movie, I don’t read a book as fast as I can watch a movie.
Fastfood or Healthy food
Max: Healthy food, I enjoy eating at nice restaurants. Fastfood is an emergency solution for me.
