Who are you?
Jobe Sports is looking for an experienced and ambitious Finance Manager to join our team. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the company’s finance department. Jobe is part of a French Group owned by a Private Equity fund. Your role will be to further develop Jobe Sports and its various entities in a challenging environment.

You will also work on optimizing the company’s financial processes and managing financial risks. In addition, you will work closely with the Managing Director and the private equity partner to define and implement the company’s long-term strategy. 

What are your responsibilities?
As Finance Manager, you are the owner of the company’s finance function and the guarantor of the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the financial statements across all legal entities. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee both accounting operations and financial controlling activities in a fast-paced private equity environment.You will ensure the production of reliable statutory accounts, strong internal controls, compliant tax and VAT reporting. 

You will be responsible for a.o.:
 
  • The preparation and integrity of statutory accounts for all legal entities.
  • Monthly management accounts including standard cost variances, accruals/prepayments, Balance Sheet Controls and Profit and Loss Analysis, explanations of the variations versus Budget.
  • Coordinating external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and banks.Work on simplifying the administration of the current five legal entities.
  • In charge of the budget preparation for the entity.
  • Actively participate in initiatives to improve the Company’s profitability.
  • Responsible for the quality and integrity of the accounting records in the ERP, including review and approval of journal entries posted by the team.
  • Calculation and review of monthly provisions, accruals (bonuses, customer rebates, etc.) and stock revaluation.
  • Management of the stocktake (a.o. Consignment and reconciliation)
  • Cash forecast and management.
  • VAT Returns, declarations.
  • Payroll validations  (c.50 people).
  • Prepare timely and accurate daily & weekly reporting including Sales and Margin analysis.
  • Proactively highlight issues/variances which require action.
  • Managing the General Ledger accountant and the Account receivable Specialist 

Requirements
  • Minimal 5 years of management experience in a similar role within a trading organization.
  •  HBO+ or university-level education and thinking skills
  • Strong analytical skills: You quickly grasp processes and know how to turn data into actionable insights;
  • Strong IT competent using Microsoft Office, high level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is required
