Why? Not only is SUP a ridiculously good workout, it’s super-easy to master. Plus, an excuse to wear a new style of unapologetically sporty swimwear. Still not convinced?
#1 Explore your holiday destination.
A new country and all its unexplored treasures are begging to be discovered by you. Why should you take an overfull and sweaty bus if you can take the SUP on your holiday? When it comes to transportation, SUP beats the standard ways of exploring and movement. Paddling makes it possible to really experience the landcape, listen to waves and breath in the nature of your favourite destinations. The fact that you can make the best pics of the year is a welcome extra:)
#2 Work out on your holiday without knowing
Yes, holiday must be easy. For most people the perfect holiday consists out of relaxation, some reading, drinks, drinks, food, food. Nice and relaxing. The cool thing about paddling is that it doesn't truly feel like a work out. SUP means you burn those calories, without giving up the relaxing-part of your excessive holiday. You can speed up, lay down or discover in your own tempo. While doing so, you burn a max of 700 calories per hour (okay, not while you tan). Meaning; you will still fit in your bikini or boardshorts after your weeks of salvation.
#3 Entertain yourself (and children).
Yes, it’s nice by yourself. But it’s nicer to share the sight of the mountain or grooming monkeys. Explore together on your own, or crawl together on one with your child(ren). SUP is about turning off your phone and to have a real conversation again, on the water or during a picknick on a hidden island.
