RIDERS CONFIRMED FOR PROTEST CABLE CALL 2012

The countdown begins as Protest can now confirm the names of the riders to take part in Protest Cable Call 2012, which kicks off in less than 20 days.

Confirmed names include Tom Foshee WWA World Champion, Nick Davies World overall Champion, Domonik Guehrs Rider of the Year, Maxine Sapulette WWA World Champion Women and James Windsor Junior IWWF World Champion.

Cable Call has grown into a hugely successful wakeboarding and wakeskating worldseries event that involves the best riders from across the globe.

This year’s party has evolved into a mini music festival and the shopping street is bigger than ever with partners queuing up to be involved.

Event organizer, Jeroen Beersmans, said: “We are delighted to announce the names of the riders who will take part in what is one of the four biggest wake events in the world.

“We are tipping this year’s event to be the best yet – we will be showcasing some of the best in extreme sports as well as providing some real summer fun with the Feelgood Festival. As always there will be something for everyone so we’re looking forward to record crowds this year.”

The Feelgood Festival has appearances from Handsome Poets, DJ Okkie, Offshore, The Arc, Rock and Roll Prophets and special guest act, Celluloid Gurus.

The WWA world series is a tour of five events over the world which lead to the winners being crowned World Champions. Wakeboarding and wakeskating are rapidly growing sports that use snowboarding and surfing techniques on the water.

During Protest Cable Call the riders will use a cableway to perform their tricks. The riders are pulled around the lake at 30km/hr using obstacles or the cable tension to launch four and five meters high jumps. It’s a sport for the fearless!

This year’s event will take place at Down Under, Nieuwegein (NL) for the third year running on August 25th and 26th. Entry is free except for the music festival on Saturday evening – tickets for that cost € 10 in pre-sale and €12.50 on the door.
