Wakemaker project in development
24 january 2017
Interns here at Jobe aren’t your typical coffee fetching, copying, B-grade employees. In fact, they make up an important part of our organization and work on various projects during their stay here! Marieke is one of our interns and together with me, she has been working on the Wakemaker-project. Without going into too much detail, this product is being designed to make wakesurfing more accessible to more people! Unfortunately, some early tests of the product didn’t provide the results we were hoping for, but because of the potential of this project we chose to further investigate the possibilities. To get additional insights into water force and waves, Marieke visited Marin. Among other things, this Wageningen based company performs on scale tests of various types of boats and how they interact with the water. Based on this informative visit a second prototype was developed, which will be used for further development and tests in the coming weeks. If you’ve always wanted to be able to wakesurf behind your boat, but you were missing “that one key ingredient”, keep an eye out on the lab for updates!
