JOBE 2021 COLLECTION OUT NOW

3 december 2020
The Jobe 2021 Collection is out now. We couldn’t be prouder to drop this new collection fully packed with new products, designs and exciting innovations.

Get ready for 2021: ‘’Double the dose of fun!’’

What we want to highlight in this blog is our new design philosophy for 2021: Form Follows Function & Automotive Design.

We are so excited to tell you all about this. First of all: what does Form Follows Function mean? It means the shape of an object should primarily relate to its intended function or purpose. This design principle is originated in architectural design.
During the design process we were inspired by this principle, which basically means that the shape of a product should primarily relate to its intended function or purpose. On top of that, the design was adapted in a way it complements the specific characteristics of each product individually. You’ll be finding details in our new products which have tremendous impact on the performance and user-friendliness!!
Best way to explain how we used this design principle as a base in our collection is by giving you a couple of examples.

SUP board collection
If you look at the design of our Stand Up Paddle boards our handles and storage cords are all integrated which makes for a sleek look with functional features. No more patches over your board but practical integrated features or as we say: form follows function.

Wakeboard collection
In our Knox wakeboard we used honey comb carbon speeds sheets which cares for stiffness underfoot. It gives a direct response and feel of the board. Form in this wakeboard is inspired on the functionality and based on the honey comb structure. To highlight this technique, we made sure this honey comb pattern is seen in the design of the board #formfollowsfunction
Moreover, in the Breach wakeboard we used semitransparent ink and punctures so the X in the core of the design stands out. We think the core is a beauty because of the vin inserts and the carbon rods (the X). That’s why we chose to use transparent ink and punctures to highlight the core and to not hide it. With features like the all-new backbone tech that brings advanced placing of extremely lightweight carbon rods to boos board feel, response and add center stiffness.

Automotive design

Beside using form follows function as a base for our design principle we also focused on automotive design in our products. For us automotive stands for: Luxury meets Sportmanship! Comfortable products with a sporty, speedy look. Look how we’ve adapted the design of our towables to an automative look and feel.
