Jobe design contest winner receives own wakeboard

11 october 2010
In December 2009 Jobe organised a wakeboard design contest. Jobe invited everyone to participate in this contest and received a massive amount of entries.
The German Ben Sterzenbach eventually became the lucky winner and won his very own wakeboard with his ‘Illustrious’ design. The ‘Illustrious’ has also been added to Jobe’s 2011 collection. Last week Ben visited Jobe’s head office in the Netherlands where the board was handed to him personally by the Jobe team.

Ben has studied Media & Design and works as a designer for a medium sized company in the medical sector. Wakeboarding is one of his hobbies and competing in design contests is one of his favourite ways of spending his spare time.

For the ‘Illustrious’ design, Ben was inspired by the summer season: “Summer to me is ice creams! Besides that I think the wakeboard scene is very cheerful and colourful. I have combined these associations in my design. I designed colourful ice creams with happy faces which resulted in the perfect combination!” according to the lucky winner.

Ben Sterzenbach’s wakeboard will be available as of next season. Check www.jobesports.com  to find a Jobe dealer near you.
