It is no news for us that SUP keeps you fit and is good for your health. It is widely known that SUP is a good work-out and you train lots of muscles while paddling. Because you are using your legs, core and arms to SUP, one would therefore also expect to burn fat while paddling. This is now backed up by some official research!
In the Journal of Sport Sciences a research
has been published that proves exactly what we already thought: people who SUP have lower levels of body fat. In addition to that, people that SUP also have a better posture and have a lower level of triglycerides, which is a key marker for an increased chance of getting a stroke.
